I posted about this almost 2 months ago. The long and short of it -- I was contacted by an attorney regarding an auto I had repo'd almost 2 years ago. I mailed them a DV letter giving them 30 days to validate....no response. I sent them another DV letter giving them 15 days, no response. Tomorrow I will send them another DV letter giving them another 15 days. If I still get no response, is this all I need to prove I've made the attempt in the event they take me to court?

I hope you sent those letters CMRRR so you can prove when you sent them and when they received them.

They don't have to validate ever unless you are in TX and it is on your credit reports. They just have to quit collecting.

Is this on your credit reports?

Yes, all have beem mailed CMRRR. This does show on my credit report from the creditor. The validation letters have been mailed to the attorney who said he represents the creditor. The original creditor never came after me.
