Re: Debt validation got me a judgme I gotta concur with Lizzardking, Since 1983, I've been involved in 4 lawsuits. One as a defendant and 3 as a plantiff. In the one as a defendant, {small claims} the judge ruled in my favor. The other 3 were settled out of court. At no time did any mention of the lawsuits appear on my credit report.
Re: Debt validation got me a judgme My lawsuit against credit data southwest, the exp. affiliate, is not on my report. It was settle out of court. But, I'm sure the reason it doesn't show up is because they are the defendants. Any other lawsuit I have been involved in has shown up. Even 1 for a car accident in which my ex-wife was hurt showed up at 1 point. We were the plaintiffs.
Re: Debt validation got me a judgme This is one of the post I was talking about in my post. L King can you help O.Terri with this??
Re: Debt validation got me a judgme Why n Knee the h Shounld ot wait on it to fall off? There is no x-cuse for it to have been on the C.Report the last 6 yrs. in the first place!
Re: Debt validation got me a judgme Lawsuits are public records. Public records are reportable to CRAs. There are no restrictions on what public records can be reported. Automobile titles, property tax records, deeds, devorces, marriages, are all public records that can be placed on your report.
Re: Debt validation got me a judgme Speaking about reportable Info. Seams that everything is reportable because there are no restrictions. The only requirement is that it be accurate.
Re: Debt validation got me a judgme Lizard, Could you please be more specific? Should I send a letter threatening a lawsuit to the main office of EQ, and if so, how would I get them to read it and not send it on to the local affiliate? Or, do I just go downtown and file a lawsuit? I really would like to get this removed, and I will follow through and file if necessary, but if I can threaten and accomplish my goal for the cost of a crrr letter, that would be better! Thanks
Re: Debt validation got me a judgme I bet one of the reasons they put lawsuits from public records on your report is because they want to sell your report to companies like Progressive insurance, who *want* to see things like lawsuits for auto accidents because they want justification to assess as high a rate as possible. -ingenue
Re: Debt validation got me a judgme Original poster: was the judgment obtained through the proper process? (Were you properly served? If so, did you show in court to challenge this?) You might be able to get the order vacated if you can show that you were never properly served for the lawsuit. -ingenue
