I disputed my student loan, just to check. One is classified as paid off collection, the other has been transferred.

My question is this, after it has been verified (Equifax). What is my next step? Or do I just leave it alone.

I sent the "not mine" letter as my first step.

    Please help!!!!

How did they PROVE it was yours???

    With what documentation???

Did EQUIFAX prove it was "YOURS" by looking at their computer and they SAW IT ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT--SO IT MUST BE YOURS?!?!?!

it sounds like you know its yours and that the "not mine" letter WILL be denied. if you know it will be denied then why send it. try to work with the CA to get it removed. send a verification letter to them too at least.

they just sent an updated credit report with specifics on the debt, such as date of last payment, revolving amount, that kind of information.
so, I'm assuming I should request documentation from the CRA- the same documents they "received" when they validated.......
what is my second step letter???

and to the other person.... I disputed, because sallie mae has played so many games with my student loan, why do I have 5 student loan negs, and only have had 2 student loans in my life.... that's bull...........

any input???? thanks for your prompt response

sorry i really dont know much on this subject but look up "Validation letters" in search. i think you need to validate with the student loan place thats reporting you. it sounds like the CRA (equifax) isnt gonna budge.
