I have a medical bill that was turned over to a CA. The CA mailed their usual dunning letter. I sent them a validation letter. They responded with the norm (printout, statement, etc). I also disputed it with the CRA. It was deleted from my credit report. Later, the same debt was being reported by another company, showing no affiliation to the CA. I got the phone number of the new company and paid the bill, although I felt that I should not have since it was to be paid in the car accident settlement. The thing is that they were sooo deceptive in trying to keep the debt on my credit reports, let alone getting me to pay. The new company that reported the debt was actually the company that bought the debt, they say, and the CA that initially reported it just collects for them. Come to find out that the debt buyer and the CA are all under the same parent company. There is definitely something shady about this. I want to put it into words for a nice letter that I want to send them. Please help me draft a letter.
1* Careful about making statements such as this. You could be labeled as paranoid. However in this case it's probably better to be a bit paranoid than it would be to be naive.
