Got a copy of my credit report and found a judgement was given against me in 2001. Cannot find out where judgement was given. It just says amt.1931.00 and 4/01 Commercial Financial Corp ? whoever they are and a case #. I was never served papers of any kind. I moved in July of 2001 from Ohio to WV but left forwarding address. I was still in Ohio when this was done. Can't get a human at EFX. how else do I go about finding out?

Contact the Court Clerk in the county that you lived in in 2001. Many of them now have online access.

Isn't that grounds for a voided judgement because you were never properly served?

You need to contact the court and get a full copy of your file.

Check for improper service and file a motion to have the judgement vacated on that premise.

Thats just it I don't have a clue. It didn't state on credit report and the judgement was filed under my Old name. Three husbands ago.
