hey all, My husband is being sued on a deficiency balance. Does anyone know the laws about deficiency balances for ohio. Everything I've read is all mumbo-jumbo to me :-( he was served last saturday - we have 28 days to respond to the plaintiff's attorney thanks all
If they have complied with all Ohio laws re repossession, they can collect the deficiency balance. You say you already read the mumbo jumbo - lawdog is pretty clear - they paraphrase the laws. To read their version, go to lawdog site, click on "state laws by state" select "Ohio" then select "automobiles and repossession" then up at the top right, click on the red box that says "repossession." See if this is any easier to understand. From http://www.lawdog.com
