    Hi,

I think proof will help me remove my medical TLs.

Can I walk in with my ID and ask for my records, results of tests, etc. at the hospital that I went to for help in 1999? Or, ask for copies? Or is there red tape? Or can only an attorney do that?

I think I misunderstood while I was growing up. I thought it took YEARS and YEARS to take someone to court.

From what I have been reading on CN it sounds as simple as going down to the courthouse, submitting the evidence, paying a small fee, have the papers served, waiting only for the 120 days later for plantiff and defendent to be in court, (unless settled out of court) and then the judge makes his decision within 15-20 minutes.

    Is that basically right?

    Thanks all,

Just to clarify, I am referring to test results and treatment given not billing.

    Hi Gretchen,
I don't know if this differs from state to state, but I had no problem obtaining records from the hospital . I went to the records department and did wait awhile. I also paid $3.00 a page. Hope this helps.

    Inforest,

    It certainly does.

Your news is good news. I'll go prepared to campout. ;-)
