I have a Chrysler that has been paid off. I have the "lien satisfied" letter from them. I disputed the current listing in 6/2001 that shows that there is still a balance on the car.

If I write the Credit Bureau do I tell them that I want it deleted? Do I send them the letter stating the lien is satisfied? Or should I ask for a correction? There is only 1 30 day late on the account.

    Thanks.

Is the OC reporting the original tradeline?

If so, you can dispute that as 'never late' with the possibility of three results:

-They will verify it as being correct
-They will delete the entire account
-They will delete the late marks only (this one is most unlikely)

Is there a public record notation ie court ordered lien also reporting?

If there is a lien, its in your best interest to have the lien removed. Its still a negative reference even if paid. I doubt that sending a letter that the lien has been paid will get the CRA to remove it, since that is verifying that the lien is yours. Dispute the lien as 'not mine'.

This is my opinion. I suggest that you get the advice of some of the more experienced members of the board.

I experienced this. I had an auto loan that I paid off a couple of months agao and both experian and transunion updated it to closed with no late pays, however equifax never closed it. It said I still owed one months payment, but never late. Well I disputed hopeing to get it marked closed..... it came back with a 0 balance but currently 30 days late!!!! wtf Also it said I had 7 unknown 30 day lates and 1 60!!!! I quickly disputed it again, and it just came back all late pays taken off, closed 0 balance, but still 30 days late!!! I'm still fighting this, but I guess it would have been better for me to leave it alone in the beginning. I mean it wasn't hurting my score I just wanted it to be accurate.... I shoud've known.
