HAD A OLD COLLECTIONS ACCOUNT FROM 95 WITH GULFSTATE THAT I DISPUTED AND IT CAME BACK VERIFIED THEN THEY SENT ME A LETTER THAT THEY ARE LOOKING INTO IT , CALLED THEM TODAY AND DISPUTED IT SHE PUT ME ON HOLD AND CAME BACK AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL CLOSE THE ACCOUNT AND TAKE IT OF THE BUREAU.
This is the way I had alot of my disputes deleted.Hope the situation with Providian pans out smoothly for you. Lates being reported is better than it being reported as a "charge-off". Try calling customer service and ask for retentions dept. and see if they can direct you to the rehabitation dept. and see if there is a better plan for you.At this point it may be worth a phone call.It will not cost n e thing but alittle time. Suggest a plan that you can meet and stick with it rather than agree to something you know in the long run will put u back in jeopardy of ending back in the same situation. Keep the negotiating going continiuously and need be ,keep in touch several times a week to show interest and keep from becoming a "charge-off". In other words, keep continuious contact open at this point and don't ignore or let it slide by. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!
Check this out...It's from Equifax as of 6/01 Gulfstate Credit Open 120+ DAYS PAST DUE 7 $0 JOINT ACCOUNT CITICORP-371167XXXX $2420 Gulfstate Credit P O Box 105460 2960 NW 14th St Miami,FL 33125-2010 (888) 428-3891 The account has been paid off since September 2000 and also it was never a joint account. Never been married or did a joint account with anyone. This puppy is coming off. I tried the number in Mimai and it is diconnected. Hopefully the address is boarded up too. Those anal people are crazy. Thing about is that there was another one just like this one sitting on my Equifax and it has been recently removed since it wasn't verified. I told EFX to kill thenm because they were dupes. They leave the 120 day one that has been paid off for 9 moths. I'm going to call at 9am today. It sucks living out in the pacific time zone. Later...
