I disputed a credit card chargeoff half an year ago and the status was "Updated". I disputed the same item again and at the same time DVed the CA. I don't know this time the result comes "Deleted". I suspect they are playing games and sold the account to other CA, or OC. Is it possible? Another question may be more naive. Can CA keeps on adding interests and fees on the account? If so, they can just hide by not reporting to CRA until six and half year they sue on court for more money.
the easiest way to keep a debt off your report is to respond within the 30 days of initial notice with a DV and keep nailing them with paperwork. secondly, the only way a CA can legally continue to accrue interest and fees to send you a new bill each month (search for the fair billing act).
Thanks for the answer. Be honest I don't want to passively wait for CAs to drop the bomb every three months or so, according to other ppl's experiance. I want to verify the debt and pay it off if it is valid and the amount is correct. Should I call the CA to ask if they transfer the account to somebody else?
Re: Re: Deleted = Invalid? ****** 1*This is the perfect way to lock in 7 years of bad credit on your records. 2* Never call a CA. Did I say never call a CA?
Re: Re: Deleted = Invalid? Thanks IBrown59. I will take your advice not calling CA. But call me crazy I really want to pay it off to get peace of mind. When I searched for "reinsertion" I found a lot postings on this borad. So how can I do it?
Re: Re: Re: Deleted = Invalid? Pay it off only with an agreement in writing of pay in exchange for deletion.
