If I have credit cards that have been charged off, and I disputed them. How do I get them deleted from my credit? It continues to say disputed but I would obviously like them deleted. Can anyone give me some tips on this? Thanks
If they are ligitimate accounts that were charged/off, they will not remove them from the report for 7 years. If they are not, you must inform the original creditor that you would like it removed from all credit bureaus reports.
There are several routes to go. First you can dispute some inaccuracy with the CRAs, sounds like you have already done this. They have 30 days to verify the info or delete the TL, after which they must send you an updated credit report. If they can't verify, it will come off. If the "verify" the info the next step may be to send a PR, or procedure request, asking for their procedures in verifying the information. Sometimes the CRAs don't do much to verify the info and have trouble answering these letters, and this may result in a deletion. If the TL still exists, you can dispute it down the road, try not to do it too quickly though or they may clasify your dispute as "friviolus" and ignore your letter. If none of the above works, you can contact the OC and try to work out some deal that will result in them deleting the TL, not likely to happen though. Good luck brian
I have written them letters of validation and the bureaus sent replied with a new copy of my credit that states some as "disputed by borrower" something like that. Does this mean eventually it will get deleted? Should I write more letters?
