I have a Chase CC on which I owe about 1,200 dollars on, a while back when I had signed up with Profina Credt Counseling Service they had my Account closed. The problem is instead of showing "ACCT CLOSED BY CONSUMER" it shows "ACCT CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR" Which puts my account in the negative. Also they screwed me all up and now my reports have a 30 late, 60 late and 90 late. I have tried disputing this stating "never late"multiple times, but each time they just verify the information.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advise on how to have the account deleted. Does any one know of any letters I can use to delete the account or a way I could ask them to exchage full payment of the account for having it completely taken off. I have heard of sending a cashiers check and stating "By cashing this check you agree to remove this account from my CR" but I do I do that legally and does it really work? Please help I NEED to fix this if I am ever going to be a homeoowner :(

Search for a 'debt settlement letter'. Also, it sounds like you have 2 distinct problems. I wouldn't worry about the 'closed by...' part as much as I would about the lates.
