Deletion letter but EQ won't delete

I thought I saw another reference to this problem of paying an illegitimate debt in the following:

It's a speech by none other than the Commissioner of the FTC. If we can find this reference it'll carry a LOT of weight.

 

I would NOT pay $1.98 to a CA if I did NOT owe it!!!

BUT THAT IS ME!!!

 

I think he's just saying that the CA might not have yet done what they say they have done (in taking the necessary steps to have the account deleted). Highly possible when dealing with a CA.

WEll last month I was having the same problem with equifax except I didn't fax them anything, I called up and asked to speak with a supervisor, one by the name of Barbara got on the phone said she was supervisor of team 2, I explained the problem she asked me the phone number to the CA I gave it to her she said to call back in an hour I did and the 4 collection accounts were deleted just like that. I couldn't believe it I've never had it that good with a CRA.;

hey, I know this is old, but i read the entire speech and didn't find anything about paying an illegitimate debt in there. (i have a couple of really stubborn paid chargeoffs).

It was a good read however, filled with lots of other good info. But I was wondering if anyone (butch?) ever figured out if/where there is a reference to paying illegitimate or nuisance debt due to pressure from a creditor or CA (or whatever other reasons) and if there is anything anywhere that will help get it removed from a CR. (i know there are a lot of philosophies and tools for getting rid of paid chargeoffs...i've tried them all...i need a new angle.)
