Deletion Without Request?

    I got back a CRA report/response today to disputes....

    They deleted a CA account, (Yayy me!), but it wasn't one that I disputed. In addition to this they did not report ANY status whatsoever on two other items I disputed.

    Are they trying to pull one over on me? Is this common practice for items to be deleted that were not disputed? This is weird, but hey whatever, one less battle to fight I suppose.

    lol was it an old acct that was possibly ready to come off maybe?

    if not whoo hoo 4 u :)

    it could have been a few other things as well, that the furnisher requested deletion for some reason,
    the Cra screwed up and its your lucky day.

    hopefully it doesnt just reappear.


    when you dispute an acct with the CRA they claim it takes somewhere between 21-30 days to complete depends on the response from the companies.

    so say you call and dispute 2 acct on monday and the CRA begins investigation then you call the following friday and dispute another they may not be able to include the results from the acct you disputed on friday as the time period is different unless the furnisher reports back in time for them to include the results together.

    I check with last month's report....it wasn't due to come off for another 2 years and it wasn't something I've disputed yet so I think they just made a mistake. (woo whoo is right!)

    If it's been 30 days since you submitted the dispute, I would send them a letter informing them that the 30 days for them to complete the dispute on (list exactly the two accounts you disputed) and demand that they delete the accounts since their investigation time has expired. I would also, if you disputed in paper, send a copy of your original dispute letter with the word COPY in red ink across it. That way they can't get confused and try and claim that they just recieved it. If you disputed online, I hope that you printed out the confirmation of the dispute and then send them a copy of that.

    Either way, Woo Hoo for you getting a derog deleted so easily from the CRA's typo and good luck on having the other two deleted also because of their mistakes.
