Is it true that if I get one CRA to delete something off my credit report, then the other two major CRA's have to delete it also? So I can send out 3 disputes at a time (one to each agency) for each item to increase my chances right?

LizardKing, why did you have to sue all 3 CRA's? If one deletes the stuff, don't the other 2 delete it too?

The big 3 bureaus are not related. Just because 1 bureau deletes something does not mean that the others will. That's why all of your reports are a little bit different. If you want something deleted, first make sure it is on all the reports and then dispute to each bureau separately.

Quote from Repair Your Own Credit by Bob Hammond:

"In addition to new legislation, technological advances have made it easier and faster for consumers to fight credit-report errors and update their report. Until recently, consumers who disputed, say, an entry about a credit card account have had to send seperate letters to the three national credit bureaus (Equifax, Trans Union and Experian). The bureaus, in turn, would ask the creditor that supplied the questionable data to verify the items, which could take 30 days or more. Credit bureaus and collectors now use the Automated Consumer Dispute Verification (ACDV) system that automatically reports errors to all the major bureaus. Previously, credit bureaus and collectors mailed paper copies of such data to one another.
The ACDV system was adopted voluntarily by the three major credit bureaus and major creditors, and it appears it will be the mechanism used to comply with the new requirement that changes in reported information must be automatically shared by the bureaus."

At this point in time, they do not share info. Look at your reports. Are all 3 identical? No. If they did share info, all of your reports would be identical.

    NO WAY

Which fairly land does Bob Hammond live in? They don't share anything. All three reports are different.

I doubt that if one deletes, the other two will. What is more likely, if one adds something negative, both of the others will add it also.

I don't see them deleting a credit card line simply because one of the three does it.

    Explanation

What Bob Hammond is talking about is the system creditors use to update accounts and stuff.

When u dispute an error via the bureaus or the creditor directly and the creditor agrees, the creditor then inputs the data in this system and it gets updated by all 3 bureaus. This system works best when u dispute directly with the creditor.

However, as u all know, most of our deletions is due to bureau disputes and non - responsive creditors. Thus, only the one bureau deletes the info.
