Not sure if anyone has suggestions, but I am wondering if Dell accounts are easier to get. I went to MILLCBS and saw that they use EXP only. I have a perfect EXP, but my score is only 633, due to only having a 2.5 year file with EXP. Don't want to waste inqiry. I also saw on MILLCBS that a person with 645 was approved. Hmmm...need new computer. Anyone been approved with a low score?

    Thanks,
    Nikki

    Hi Nikki,

I don't know exactly what hubbys score was when we applied, (we've been in the high 500's to high 600's since our bk discharge) but we got a $1500 line with a 1 yr old bk.

Other members here have gotten credit with them right after their case was discharged, so scores can't have been very high.

You might try doing a search to read of others experiences (I know from reading them that's why we even tried to get something through dell.) I'm not sure if the search function is working again, but it's worth a shot!

I applied on 1/13 I think and with a score of 605 I was denied. Might try again now that my CE score is up to 650...

Hey!!! Thanks guys...took the plunge and was approved for 1500. Thanks for the input. Of course, with the inquiry, probably dropped from 633 to who knows, lol.

    Thanks again,
    Nikki

Hi firstclass...sorry, missed your first post.

Yes, I applied online. I figure, I'll return the courtesy and update millcbs with my info.

Even though it shows 7 good accounts and no negs, my score is real low with EXP (633). I have a lot of new accounts and my history isn't that old. I think I have a split file...not sure. I've tried to find out, but they said I only have 1 report. I guess I will go with it. Hubby's going to KILL me for opening an account. Oh, well, it is in my name, so...it is MY computer, lol.

According to millcbs, not many people pull only exp. They all pull the other 2. Of course, the other 2 of my reports reflect a 94 bk that that won't drop off till next year. pooey. Sent EQ a letter, but doubt it will work.

Have such a problem with inquiries (devilish grin). I need Applications Annonymous counseling. I know this goes against all I'm trying to do to fix reports, but at the same time, after being in the toilet for so long, you really feel like a SOMEBODY when you can get approved for instant credit. yeah, yeah...I know, no lectures, please! J/K

That's weird, because I though Citibank was the one Dell uses for financing. We ALLL know that citibank reports, lol. Citibank won't touch me with a stick, but apparently, Dell has easier requirements for Citi to apporve financing.

At what interest rate were you approved for? Was it 0% for 6 months?

Heck no! I consider myself lucky to get approved...even if it was at around 28% interest!!! Too bad TX usery laws don't apply. I don't plan on keeping a balance for more than a couple of months, so that part isn't so bad.

I tried applying online with an Experian score of 650, DENIED. I applied back on 1/13/03 with a 605... denied of course. I have a judgment from 2002 (in dispute) and 2 lates total. I checked my Experian report afterwards and I do not have an inquiry from Dell on there. Do they retain your information from a first application and not check a new report? Anyone know?

    Thanks,

I'm not sure what the definitive answer would be...however, I do know that some companies will only allow you to apply for something once within 30 days. If you don't see the new inquiry, then maybe this is what happened. I wish I knew what their (citi Financial) guidleines for approval. I know I've been trying to get a rooms to go account...too scared to try. The saleslady made it seem like you had to be in the 800 club (or at least 700) to be approved. Just bought a new house and some furniture would be great. Of course, a 3/4 Dodge Dually is calling too...hmmm....furniture or BIG TWUCK?!?

Weird, I had a 549 EXP score when be vought our house. Hubby was too new to rate (his FICO). Still managed a 7% FHA, no down and no closing. We locked our rate before they plunged in late August. I see people have an awful time every day with trying to buuy a home. Most of them have better credit that I had at the time. If anyone is looking and reads thispost, feel free to ask questions.

    Thank to all,
    Nikki
