I am happy to hear that Dell approved you for the computer. The only way to go is up! One question...Who did you use for your home financing?

    Chitown...

Thanks a bunch. Chase Mortgage has our note. We went through our builder for the mortgage company. They sold it to Chase within a month of closing. We knew they were going to sell it, so it was no biggie.

I figured they would sell it to "Bob's Mortgage and Payday Loans To-Go"

hi bukethead - yup we opened ours at the same time. no reporting.

additionally, if you go $1 over that DELL FS limit -
it bounces you back to the main credit card page..
AND GIVES YOU NO OPTION OTHER THAN VISA/MC/AMEX etc.

you would think you could use your available credit TOWARDS a more expensive machine - NOPE>but I can understand it from the DFS perspective. They do not want computers tied up with two forms of financing I suppose.

they are OK - it does not cost anything.

aarf hope all is well - looks like it LOL - dogman

hello all, i got a dfs account back in september with a 589 exp 3 derrogs, 1500 limit high interest though, I actually contacted them about their reporting to CRA's they said they do not report to any at this time. Watch your statements for cool discount coupons to use, also watch techbargains.com for good dell deals every once in a while you can fins a great deal or a great coupon code or both!

Nope, bad news. My wife was approved for $5,000 with a score of about 650 and we were paying 24.99%. We paid it off and they are still hounding us for a late payments. They haven't REPORTED anything yet. They are assuring us that they will report us for being late though. We are paid off, but they swear we still owe them money. They haven't gotten anything right since we opened the account. Every time I called them about a problem, I was on the phone for 30 minutes being passed around from one tech support person to the next.

Their statements were always. "no, I don't see you in the computer, you must be in the preferred accounts, let me put you on hold and transfer you" Then prefferred accounts would say "no, you must be.....let me put you on hold..." etc.......

Anyhow, they never did get the payments right, they cashed our checks and NEVER gave us credit for them. Good thing we have all of our cancelled checks!

The financial institution that Dell uses is actually not Citibank or Citifinacial it is actually CIT Bank, which is missing the last "i". I have a prm on my experian from December 2002 that says something like CIT DFS--which is CIT bank and Dell Financial Services. I get their catalogs monthly and I see no mention of Citi or its affiliate banks anywhere. Hope this helps

    AAAhhh-sooooo

Well, thanks to all for the warnings about non-reporting and account issues. I will be leary of my recordkeeping with them. Although I didn't want to use it right away, I broke down and got a pretty kick A computer. We'll seee...Dell is only a few miles from our house, so if I'm not happy, I will drop it off on their doorstep, lol.

About the splitpayment transactions, if you call Dell, they will let you pay the difference if you are over your limit with what you want to order. They just make ya use visa, mc, phone check, etc. Also, I was able to get the online promos in addition to the telephone promos, so it worked out well.

    Thanks guys!

I hadn't seen CIT in many years, but if the same company, they are a old loan company that did a lot of large loans and commercial loans. In fact it seems like the C stands for commercial. They were a large company years ago, and had no connection to Citi or Citibank.

    Hey Bayou,

Seem like I've heard of them before. I obviously got mixed up thinking they were CITI.

Just got back from LA...went to pick up a bloodhound pup. Named her Louisi Red Isabeaux. Doesn't sound TOO Coonass, does it? ANyhow, LA is so pretty!

Thanks for the info. I think I'll look more up on this co.

That is a real pretty name. Sounds aristrocratic.

I'm not familiar with Isabeaux, is it from that song Thibideaux, Fontineaux, Isabeaux the place is buzzin...:) Must be from the N.O. area. Any way if you get down around the Lafayette area let me know and I'll give you some Crawfish to take home. (That's during Crawfish season of course)

BTW the CIT I'm thinking of was pronouned C I T as opposed to SIT. I really doubt if it's the same company as I hadn't heard the name in a long time.

....and the best to you and the new family member.

    Bayou,

    Dog is driving me nuts.

Last year, did a loop around LA. Stopped in Alexander and ate alligator at TUNKS. Awesome!

Went through Lafayette, N.O., bunch of little towns whose names I couldn't pronounce. Saw swamps up close & personal. Loved it all.

Isabeaux, I guess comes from one of the dogs in her pedigree. She'a good, but bays ALOT! She is 4 months and is currently in search and rescue program.

Maybe she can search and rescue my credit, lol.

I'm searching, but does CIT have a website?

    Thanks,
    Nikki
