Anyone know minimum requirements to finance a computer through either of these two? Is BK7 that's 4 years old a problem? Who do they finance through?

I just got a Dell catalog in which I am preapproved for a credit line up to $5000. They selected me based on my TU report. My TU score is 697 and I had a BK filed on 10/97.

I'm really thinking about it. I've been building my own PCs for the last 10 years using open systems parts because it's so much cheaper. But I could use the positive tradeline. I just don't want to waste an inquiry. I can go through our employee purchase program at work.

Can anyone tell me who actually does the financing? Is it American Investment Bank by chance?

Actually, I'm getting a whopping 26.99%. BUT I'll have the loan paid off in 6-12 months.

I could have paid $500-$600 to build my own but the good tradeline will look good.

    BE FORWARNED NOT CREDIT RELATED:

I've been building Pc's for as long as you have and I must say today it's actually more of a value to go with a built name-brand system unless you are building for a high end niche. Like Gaming, video or sound editing. For most users the system's they have out now have at least 4X the power they need although some of us still need Geforce 3 and SB Audigy and like components.

    I was approved for 5000.00 @ 23.99%
If I remember right interest accrued as soon as shipment was accepted.
The loan had some connection to Citi

    FYI.....

Looks like they pulled Experian on me. My CreditExpert score is currently showing 626. HOWEVER, i had a recent charge-off deleted in the last 2 days and the score hasn't budged so I'm not sure if the score Dell got was higher than CE is showing.

Apparently, CE isn't updating scores for several others either. So, I'm guessing my Experian score is around 640ish.

I'm not in love with the 26.99% but I've budgeted $150/month for this loan. Minimum pmts are $43/month. That being the case, the interest isn't gonna hurt TOO much.

Can you BT most of it to another lower rate card you have?

    George....

I wish. My cards all have low limits still. I just paid off a debt that was costing me $225/month so I've reallocated $150 of that to this loan. I'll pay it off over 12 months.

Dell computers are financed by CIT OnLine Bank which is a part of CIT Group, Inc. CIT Group, Inc. (Tyco Capital) is a financial division of Tyco International LTD.

    Lizardking

Then why do they offer 3 months 0% and no one receives this?

    What a gimmick!

CIT Online Bank ran a promo inquiry on my TransUnion report 1/2002 and I just got a Dell catalog for a pre-approved Dell credit line up to $5000 yesterday. (See my post above)

    Hmmmm.

Bummer. That's weird because I had a conversation with a lady from Experian a while back about an auto loan of mine throught American Investment Bank. She immediately thought I was talking about a Dell tradeline until I told her it was an auto loan.

Well, I'm still getting a nice system out of the deal and will wind up paying about $250 in interest over the course of 12 months so I can live with it.

ALso, couldn't I always call the CRAs and have them add the tradeline? Since CIT pulled the report, I would assume they have a contract with Experian so getting Experian to add it shouldn't be impossible.
