Anyone get Dell or gateway computer financing with prior BK? We are 2 1/2 yrs post discharge and we need a new computer, but didnt know our chances. Our scores are around 615-625 on all 3. Jamee
I know when my friend were trying to get a gateway using the 1-800 number, they told him that he wouldn't even be considered if he has a bk on his credit report (5 years old). I don't know about dell though.

Before our BK, our scores were under 650 and we got our Gateway thru MBNA, now our scores are almost up there again, and in another few months I think they will be around 640-650 and I wanted to try then, but didnt want to waste an inquiry. We got dell financiing, although never used it, without a BK but a low score like high 400s low 500s.
I got a pre-approval for a Dell a few months ago. A PRM soft inquiry appeared from them on my TU report. I had a BK in 10/97.
arobinson, How did you apply? Who does the financing for Dell? I know with Gateway its MBNA and CitiUSA. Was your rate decent? Our rate on the Gateway was around 16-17% But we paid it off quick. Jamee
I got approved with a bk-13 on file (1996) for $2.5k from Dell. The Apr was over 20% but I am paying this off in under 15 months. I applied online and received the aproval but still had to call DFS to undergo a final approval process. If memory serves me right they pulled Exp and my scores were in the 640-650 range. I love Dell's also. I've had my own for almost a year (used to always have Gateway) and I've used them at work for along time (my company is one of Dell's largest corporate clients) and they are really great! I think their quality and service is way above Gateway at least in my experience. Next time I think I'm going with a Mac though....not really sure why
