I had applied for an GM card with an inflated FICO score from disputes (703, if I remember), but I wasn't approved instantly. I got my denial letter today, and it had the typical denial reasons -- deliquency and number of inquiries. But how about this for a denial reason? -Residence type I rent, but I've lived at the same address for over 2 years now. This has never been a factor, so I'm confused. Anyone else had this as a reason on their denial letters? Thanks!
Length of residence will get you denied at lots of placces. They want you to show stability and anything less than 1 year will get you denied at most places even including the small loan companies. For some of the high end credit cards it can be as much as 5 years. Even if you just bought the home within the last year it will not help.
Thanks for responding! That's what I figured. I also read that it could be they have my address coded as non-residential, so I'm going to call on Monday and see what the deal is, either way.
I also tried online and got my denial for residency but have been here for 6 years but military address, so hard to say, I guess I will just try when I get stateside...
Well then, they would know for sure that such an address was a temporary address and not your real home address.
Every address is "CODED"...it has the WRONG CODE...SO IT IS A FALSE DENIAL BASED ON WRONG INFORMATION THAT WAS GIVEN TO THEM!!!
Everything is wrong isn't it George? I'll bet that if they were told that the new Iraqi national bird was the DUCK they would probably code that wrong too.
