even though I have a platinum checking account with them and a loan for 18,500, they declined me for insufficient income, and at 12,500 a year I guess it should have been expected. Does this show up as a denial on mr CR or just an inquiry, and if it is just an inquiry will it fall off in a year or two?

    I'm sad...:-(

Will show up as an inquiry and fall off in 2 years.

How did you get approved for a $18,000 loan with a $12,500 annual income? Bofa must be desperate for customers.

    MY POINT IS~~DID YOU LIE???

IS YOUR "TOTAL GROSS HOUSEHOLD INCOME" MORE LIKE $40,000???? OR $50,000???

UNDER REPORTING INCOME TO THE I.R.S. IS ONE THING...

BUT...NEVER UNDER REPORT INCOME ON A CREDIT CARD APPLICATION!!!

nope my loan is a joint loan with my dad, and on apps under income I always put mine(12,500), my GROSS HOUSEHOLD is 200,000+, I called back and had them change it on the app and review it and now I got:

    # REV/OPN ACCTS W/BAL OPN LAST 12 MOS
Average age of accounts in credit file
Number of inquiries within last 5 months

accounts open with a balance in the last 12 mths: 1, 150$ balance

I'll give them #2 because it is right

number of inqs on TU: 3, I guess that is too many

I guess I am gonna break off part of starwood for optima plat and argue the APR down to prime+3.99 and use that as my balance carrying card.

Sounds like they weren't interested in your business no matter what you put on the application.

Also sounds like I would've wasted my time applying for it (assuming my Crap 1 card were still reporting on TU...I'd probably be lynched if I applied now)

    www.planetfeedback.com

Ask to review with their EYES

    $200,000+ SHOULD BE AUTOMATIC APPROVAL!!!

"IF" they just did 2 of them...THAT IS NOT A GOOD DENIAL REASON!!!

my TU fico from myfico was 706, I have a prima checking account, savings account and a installment loan, through BofA. I would also think I would be able to get approved, but I guess 3 inqs might be too many, I don't know. I am closing my checking and savings with them because they were killing me with fees and I wanted to apply for this card before I closed my accounts but apparently they don't want any more of my money.

I just wanted a visa to carry balances on because it is more widely accepted than amex, but I am gonna go with amex optima platinum I guess, I also have about 20 preapproved oofers from discover but i heard they use 2cycle which I don't understand how it works but would assume carrying a balance with them would cost me more money? and chase will not give me a limit increase and I, shortly, will need to carry more than my 800 dollar credit limit from chase as a balance for about 2 months maybe 3.
so, should I try PFB or just go with amex optima plat?

any recommendations on the route I should take with the letter? I have an income of xxx,xxx I have been looking for the best rate cards, decided on yours since my realtionship with your bank and the low rate, hope you can manually look and see I should've been approved, something to that effect? anything I should definitely include? should I tell them the inqs on TU were from when I was car shopping(cause they were) and looking for the best rate and decided to go with their bank?

Tell them that you have an existing banking relationship. You've never had credit issues and certainly qualify for the account and expect to have your application re-evaluated and the matter resolved immediately.

Close the letter with a little brown-nosing (it's not your boss, it's your bank):

I always enjoy the pleasant experience when I visit the branch or call. Everyone's very helpful. Thanks for satisfying all of my banking needs. You get the idea.

If this doesn't get you a 5-10k line, try planetfeedback.com.
