I didn't really expect to get approved, just wishful thinking. The thing is this. When I got the refusal letter, it told me this: Our credit decision was based in whole or in part in the information obtained from an affiliate or from an outside source other than a consumer reporting agency. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you have the right to make a written request, no later than 60 days after you receive this notice, for the discolsure of the nature of this information. Name: INFO1 Street Address: 20929 Ventura Blvd #203 City, State, Zip: Woodland Hills, CA 91364 Telephone: (800) 487-4887 I looked them up and INFO1 is a provider of Residential Mortgage Credit Reports and Merged Credit Reports. Now since I was denied credit because of something this company supplied, does that mean that I can write them and demand that they provide me with the entire file they have and supplied to my potential mortgage broker? Or since it's some kind of a tri-merged report that just has the data from the big three am I out of luck? Thanks, ChrisB
Mine(with a different company) was a tri-merged, but coded for the discrepancies from the three CRA's. You also can contact all three CRA's and get free reports.
