I was surprised to see so many negative reviews for store cards. They donâ??t send statement on time; they donâ??t process payment on the time, they lost bills, they lower your credit limit without warning to less than what your current balance is; they charge frivolous late payment fees, credit line lowered, they closing accounts for to many open department store cards, pre-bill finance charge, never send the statement on time; no breakdown of purchases like other cards; collections and so many other bad things.. Banana Republic, BeBe, Casual corner, Ethan Allen, Exxon Mobil gas, Gas, JC Penny, Lechmere, LNT, Loeweâ??s, Old Navy, Samâ??s club, Shaw carpet, Wall-Mart, Macyâ??s etc. I need more positive tradelines, but not for the sake of having trouble with store cards or even hurting my credit score more with unexpected phony late payments. Guess I will just wait for some of pre-approved offers. I couldnâ??t believe how many complaints are out there regarding store cards. Reading posts here I wasnâ??t aware of such negative experience associated with store cards. After seeing this I believe I will stay out of any store card definitely.
I have had a Kohl's card for over 10 years and also had an Eddie Bauer card before FCNB went out of business. I never had problems with either. Bills received and payments posted in a timely manner for both accounts. Never had my credit limit reduced. I'm sure some people have had legitimate problems, but I am also sure many issues are exaggerated or there is more to the story than the person is saying. You should make up your mind from your own experience. You might be surprised!! Good luck on your decision.
Wife's JC PENNEYS "WAS" $5,000+ now $300...they said it was reduced to the minimum because of NON-USE...they said they could have CLOSED IT WITH-OUT NOTICE!!!
