This is my first post but I have learned a lot from the forums. The only derog remaining on my CR is from a 90 days same as cash department store card. They are reporting 4 30-day and 2 60-day late payments. I was guilty of these late payments. These are 5 and 6 years old. I have disputed with all 3 CRA and the store. I have also tried a goodwill adjustment. The Store's credit personnel tell me that they feel they have a duty to fellow creditors to report all delinquencies for the full 7 years and they do not remove properly reported items until the full 7 years have run. Any suggestions would be helpful.
My guess is that at 6 years old the lates aren't hurting you much anymore anyway. I'd still dispute it as not mine or not late every so often with the CRA's. Perhaps it will slip through the cracks or the CRA will remove it slightly early.
