dept store credit

    hello new here wow what a good sight wish i new about this place along time ago. here is the scoop on me. 2 years ago my score was 500 ish now it is 640 aroung there. the only credit cards i have currently is providian with 1000 cl. i want to open a dept store type of credit card but im not sure which way to start. still have a few collections accounts showing paid. do you think i could get those removed at all? thanks

    I had a paid collection acct that was about 3 yrs old that I just disputed as not mine and it was not verified so it was removed. You can try that.

    Also got a Target CC with scores alittle lower then yours in 98...You can try them for a store card.

    You may also try Dillards. I've had success with them even with a BK on file.

    I would try Nordstroms, I got a $2k limit with them with a 640ish Exp and an unpaid collection. They also have a Visa that I haven't tried for yet. Good luck!
