I just pulled all 3 of my credit reports and want to take off all the old inq that are promotinal that they list as PR and AR. Can i dispute these to be removed? What are the basics things i can ask to be removed. They say those awith AR. AM or PRM are not shown to creditiors but if i have other inq that I KNOW i have no relatinoship with can i ask those to be removed??? Thanx
I disputed ALL EXPERIAN "SOFT" inquires one year old and more...THEY REMOVED THEM ALL (in about one week)...NO QUESTIONS, NO COMPLAINTS. Also disputed most of the "HARD" inquires 6 months + ALL REMOVED.
I disputed a total of 16 inquiries on Experian and 15 were deleted. Disputed 11 on TU and 8 were deleted. Now I'm sending the inquiry dispute letter to Equifax CRR to see what I can do on those inquiries.
No, because the name of the party requesting the inquiry is revealed only to you. Soft INQs occur when you request your credit report, when your lender periodically checks to make sure you're current w/ other creditors in order to decide whether to jack up your interest rate, lower it or give you a CL increase, or when the CRA sells your name to direct marketers to send you pre-approved letters.
I didnt think they did....i have like two pages of them on my equ...so why remove them if they arent hurting anything?
Not quite...on TU they actually separate inquiries into 3 categories: 1) Those seen only by you and do not effect scores 2) Those seen only by you 3) Those seen by creditors Obviously 1 and 3 are what we classify into hard and soft...where hard inquiries effect scores and soft do not...but #2 curiously leaves off the scoring effects suggesting that there ARE "SOFT INQUIRIES" (ones that creditors do not see) that can effect your score. So actually George said it best..."Only FICO knows for sure." -Peace, Dave
I just asked t.u to remove some soft inq and will work on the other 2 this week. We will see what they will do Thanx all
