Determining collection state...

While in college many of my applications were filled out with my previous permanent residence address (not my school one - my parents). However, I've lived in a different state since going to school and have yet to return back home.

My home state has no licensing or bonding requirements, yet the state I've lived in since school does. Many of my collection letters and calls have all been directed to my home state, yet my credit report shows all the correct addresses since my move to school.

Would I be able to use unlicensed/bonded laws for my current state even if the applications used my original permanent address?

    Any assistance?

I believe you can, if it's on your reports, because the FTC has stated that reporting a debt is collection activity.
