i had a time warner cable bill go into collections with CPA (a collection agency) They said they reported it to the bureaus back in dec 2013. To this day i still dont see anything on my credit report from them. Not knowing better i paid the collection agency and got a receipt that i paid. TWC also said I can pay at a walkin center or online. they said they will update the credit bureaus that i paid. But this has NOT been on my report. Is there a chance that this will appear as paid in FULL in the future? How long does it take from the time the CA sends it over to the CRAs to show up on my credit report? Should i have not paid and tried to PFD? They said they will help me work it out if it does appear...I'm just afraid if it will appear as paid in full when they update their records on file with the bureaus since there isn't any record now. Thought? Thanks
Accounts typically show instantly after being submitted. What can happen is that XYZ Co submits something and there isn't enough information to place it on the credit report. Only risk is if in paying, they received more information that they can update their records for their next update.
that's certainly what im hoping what would not happen. what kind of precautionary steps should i take to get it removed..if it does show up later?
While I am all about being cautious, I would assume that this is going to remove most of your problems. If it does happen, then you can start looking into filling appeals or getting people on the phone. For now I would just be very careful and make sure that you stay up-to-date with what is going on.
