Did I ruin my changes of cleaning up some negative tradelines by having talked and agreed to a form of payment to the CA? I have paid them 40% of the balance so far, but would like to negotiate "payment in exchange for deletion" which is UNLIKELY to happen now. Either way I just sent the CA a VALIDATION LETTER just in case. This is pretty much what I said in the original response to them. I know, rookie mistake... To CA: I am very sorry to inform you that due to recent personal economic situations I have fallen behind on making my regular monthly payments. For many years I have conducted my debt liabilities very responsibly as I have paid my debt to debtors on a regular and consistent basis, and maintained very good credit worthiness as a result. With the goal of paying my de balance of $700, I am sending an initial payment for the amount of $100.00. From this date going forward I will send Allied Interstate Inc, a monthly payment of $50.00 until the balance is paid in full. In the event that I am able to increase the payment or pay in full, I will notify you in writing again. I thank you advance, of your understanding and patience, and acknowledgement of my acting in good faith towards paying this debt. Regards, Name" By having talked on the phone with the CA and having sent them the letter aboveâ?¦DID I shoot myself on the foot, and thus loose all benefits of the VALIDATION strategy?
Regardless of shooting yourself in the foot, if you do send this letter, you need to change the above line. Instead of "paid my debt to debtors," it needs to read "paid my debt to creditors." You're the debtor, not them. LOL That's what proof readers are for!
No, you didn't fhoot yourself in the soot but you didn't help yourself any either. (LOL) But let's see what your validation letter said. That will be much more relevant.
OK, Make all the fun you want, as long as you provide good advice which so far--great! I make typos because I am trying to cram all the work in a short amount of time....
I don't know whether this was directed at me or the person who commented on your typo. I had not even noticed that when I posted my answer to you. I never realized that you had made any mistake and that one could hardly be termed a typo. All you did was type the wrong word although I'm quite sure that you do and did know the difference. Just one of those things that happens to all of us at one time or another so I wasn't refering to it at all.
Didn't mean to come off as poking fun. Just trying to give some constructive criticism. I hope that you're successful in your quest regardless.

What you want to do is send the validation letter a copy of which i posted in your other thread The END ************************* LB 59
