Back on May 31 I did a dispute online with exp, well last it was pulled up a collection account was still listed as pending, WELL, today I received a colletion letter in the mail from this CA. Is this a violation. I had not sent Validation letters out yet to these places, I tried the online route first, and this is what I get. HMMMMMMM... help, what now?

You only disputed the accounts with the CRAs right? It's not a violation for the CA to continue to collect on the debt until you send a letter requesting validation actually to the CA (do it CRRR).

This is why I prefer starting with the CA first and leaving the oc out of the picture.
Doing it backwards like you did complicates things and makes it more confusing. Then too you have less protection of law in dealing with an OC rather than a CA.
Also you have alerted the OC to have the documents ready for the CA when they ask for them when you validate with the CA.
Since you started with the OC you are going to have to dispute now with the CA also.
Had you started with the CA chances are you would not have to dispute it with the OC also.
Going with the OC first can also lessen your chances of catching the CA with violations.

I have not contacted the OC yet, the CRA dispute was with the CA, as is the letter that I recieved today. I have the validation letter ready for the mailbox. This account was closed out in 1999, before we moved from Georgia.

Well, I have to say I think if the CA verifies and then you send a validation letter CRRR and they can't provide validation that will actually make your case stronger. Just make sure to dispute it with the CRA again as soon as you get the green card back.

dispute them all first, then go the letter route. those AFNI/Anderson ones will probably just fall off with a dispute the first time.

you'd be surprised how often things just fall off with a simple 30 day dispute and never return.

Thank you all, I have sat here today and have all letters ready to go, crrr ready to go on the envelopes, will send them as soon as my dispute is over at this point with EQ, in case they do not fall off the first time around. Don't want to spend $4 mailing something that I don't really need to mail.
