Did you know that if you loose your green card when something is sent registered that you are NOT completely screwed! If you mail it out at the United Post Office they can give you ANOTHER Duplicate receipt if you can tell them where it went and when it was signed for, or the date it was sent and what post office it went out of. They will charge you less than $4 to save you! Thought I would pass this tidbit on to everyone! They may be slow but they do keep records! :0)
That is what they claim, but each time they have lost my green card, they were unable to provide a duplicate. I am getting tired of the PO. Just sent an overnight letter for $14 and it took four full days. Two day mail typically takes four days to a week.
Well, I had my green card and it was stolen off of my desk so I have to try it. That is a little different than if they lost your green card which would stink. Anyway, I will get my cookies over to the PO and see if their claims of keeping records are correct and see if I leave with proof something was sent.
