What are the differences between the scores from PrivacyGuard and MyFICO? Are the scores between the two rather similar?
FICO are the 'real' FICO scores. Since Fair Isaacs are the only ones who really know how FICOs are measured, PG and any company which offers scores, need to come up with their own scoring systems. They essentially 'try' to keep the scoring systems similar; but since they aren't privy to how Fair Isaacs measures the score, they have to make educated guesses based on looking over a sampling of credit reports and scores, and then analyzing them. Some users have said that the two are similar score wise, some users have said the exact opposite, as with trying to reverse engineer something, you try to come up with the most approximate system for the majority of cases, and realize that there are always going to be exceptions to the rules.
