I am starting to get nervous that the CRAs will not remove the JCP entry, because they verified through JCP and the delete letter is from GE Card Services. Will this make a difference? The name of the account and account number is still listed on the letter.

Also, just received a letter back from TU. Actually, it was several letters in one envelope. One was a form letter exlaining how they verify an account and listing two addresses I requested. One was not complete and the second I did not recognize...it was not listed under that name on my credit report. The third was a letter saying that the government is investigating credit repair services and enclosing a form asking for information if I did use a CRA. Is this standard? I did not get this in my first TU correspondence...or in any correspondence with EX or EQF.

    Thank,

I don't know about the JCP situation, but as far as TU sending the credit repair notices, they've been doing that for quites some time. Just put it in your file and don't respond to it. Even if you were/are using a credit repair company, it's none of their business.

you should be fine as long as the name and account number is on the letter. just make sure that you send them a copy and keep original for your records in case there is a problem later on.

Thank you both for your answers. Uniondiva...GE Card Services sent a letter directly to all three CRAs and send me a letter saying they had done so and apologizing. How long should it take after they receive until they take action and remove? I don't know how long to wait.

well, you can call them and say that you received a copy of the letter requesting that they change the notation and would like a copy of your updated credit report reflecting the changes. (with score where possible).

Thanks! If it isn't removed soon, I'll give that a try.
