I am curious to find out from those persons who have AMEX Gold or Gold Rwp or Diners Club or Carte Blanche how hard are these cards to get?

I am very interested in Diner's Club since it is one of last cards that I want to obtain.

If you have Diners Club around what score did you have at the time?

Amex Gold- what score did you have and if you already had a AMEX account was it easier to obtain the Gold card or did they try to give you the Green charge first?

    Thanks in advance

    Cyprigirl,

I got both Diners Club and Montage Card and they approved both account. Last year, I applied for Diners Club and I got approved within a week. As far as I know if you're Citibank Cardmember they don't verify any thing from you. After six months I also applied for Montage Card, I got approved $10,000.
    My current TUC is 684.
By the way, I don't how hard it was. I don't have any late, negative on my credit report. They pulled credit on me from TransUnion. I have a couple of credit accounts with Citibank and I don't know it make the difference for approval.

Never had a diner's club, but had an Amex Gold. They sent me a preapproval in 2000 when I was only 19 (a student with a part-time job). I used it pretty heavily (charged about $20k last yr), in November they sent me another preapproval for the Platinum charge card and I accepted it. However, I think I will downgrade to gold again next year, because the $300 fee just isn't worth it to me.

I don't have any late or negatives, but I can't imagine Amex Gold being too hard to get if they preapprove a 19 yr old student. Also, I never had a green card or any other Amex cards before the preapproval. Also, the strange thing is I don't meet their income requirements for ANY of their cards.

    Thanks Ron:0

TU is my best report and somehow, I don't know how but I have no inquiries being reported on TU and with EQ report still out of commission, I might just go for this one.

Wow Hello that is very interesting :)

I am waiting to get one of those AMEX preapprovals online when you log in, but I keep getting this silly offer for an additional card.

    Thanks for your comments:)

The preapprovals I'm referring to were all by mail. The only preapproval I've seen online (besides add an additional card) is for the Blue, but at a 12.99 rate--not their lowest 9.99.

    sam,

Diners Club has different credit requirement from the rest of the Citibank cards. It is a charge card like Amex and you have to pay it off each month. I applied for both Diners Club charge card and Montage card and I got approved at the first time.
I don't know how tough to get. They pull credit from TransUnion. I applied for one because I haven't this card before. Montage Card may be easier to get than regular Diners Club charge card and it is a revolving credit card. It may have lower standard than regular Diners Club. The best of all is no annual fee.
