Is there a first dispute letter that I can send to the CRAS which very simply states"not mine.?" This should be easy to remove since they cannot verify it.
I think this what kalinka meant to link to: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=85491#post85491 Just modify it to your liking.
You might also try disputing online, where it is a simple scroll menu to choose from (not mine, included in BK, dates wrong, etc.). At least it's that way on Experian's website. Haven't disputed others online. Oh, and if you do try to dispute online with Experian, you will need a credit report from them becuae you'll have to use their report number to start the dispute process. good luck. peace, delilah
April 4, 2003 Experian P.O. Box 9595 Allen, TX XXXXX To Whom It May Concern: Your company is reporting incorrect information that is having a detrimental effect on my consumer credit report. I expect that the following to be removed immediately: 1. Scum Bag Collector Acct: 321321 This is not my account - remove immediately. 2. 3. I appreciate your cooperation in this matter and I expect to receive an updated copy of my consumer credit report reflecting the above concerns. Sincerely, Carla Blair
come on.. if you can post it here, you can write it in a letter it really is as simple as unruly's example. You don't need to go through all the nonsense of quoting the FCRA, etc., for something as basic as a "normal" dispute letter.. to me, those sorts of letters scream out "form letter".
