I called last night to try and convert my Discover plat to the titanium to get the 9.9 rate. However, they said they could not convert but lowered my rate from 16 to 13.24 (that's okay but lousy compared to my other cards at 8.9 and 9.24). Then, the csr offered me 1.9 bt until Nov. I guess I sounded displeased so she offered 0% "to keep you a happy customer". So, I know the 1.9% is being offered and you may be able to get the 0%. Discover is making me use this card after all. I TRIED TO "TRADE" PLATINUM FOR TITANIUM ALSO...THEY SAID NO!!! "YOU MUST APPLY FOR IT IF YOU WANT IT" I just used it this month for 3 trips to the GROCERY STORE and it is now back in the SOCK DRAWER!!!
They only offered me a 5.7 BT rate. Then again I have been late in the last year. I still transfered some debt from a 11.65 to the 5.7 so its not all bad.
Just got off the phone with Discover. They still are offering 0% on BT. Also, I finally got them to lower my APR to 9.9% fixed. Tried to get them to match my Universal card at P+1.9 but would not give it to me. Anyway, I am happy to get it under 10% - was at 13.24 variable. Also, this was the first time they reduced the APR by more than 2 percentage points. Does anyone have a rate lower than 9.9 fixed? The rep said he would put a note on the account to lower my rate as soon as a lower rate is offered. Has anyone heard of this before? Willis
9.9% is probably their lowest at this time. In the past. I was receiving offers with 13.99% as their standard rate. About 2 weeks ago I responded to one of their 'invitation to apply offers' with a rate that ranged between 9.9% and 15.99% with 'zero' percent on transfer balances until July 2004. I checked my credit status, and was told that I'm approved with an APR of 11.99%! Not what I expected but is a non-issue because I have no intentions in revolving a balance on this credit card. Definitely a good idea not to revolve a balance on this card. I only use it when they give me 0% BT or 0% for purchases. But, I just want the lowest rate available - just because. Willis
