They said the same to me. So I asked for a better BT rate and they said "sure" .... 0.9 :) See there George, I am paying their $50 fee which is more than cancelled out by asking for a lower rate. The key is to ask for something they CAN do. :) Give it a try. The fee is nothing when they move down to 0.9 on a decent BT.

    I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT!!!!!!

I was just HAPPY that they FINALLY tried something other than 9.90% with a $50 fee!!!!!

BUT THE $50 FEE WAS A BUMMER!!!

Is this only for existing cardholders, or do they have something like this as an incentive for new cardholders?

I don't like Discover very well, but for a .9% I might be influenced to change my mind!

I could make more than that just putting the money in a good money market account.

As far as the fee goes, I just had an interesting exchange with FirstUSA when I did my BT. I tried to do it online, it wouldn't let me. Then I called, they said there was a BT fee. I said I thought it said no fee, they insisted there was a fee.

It turned out they couldn't do it by phone, either, so I had to use one of their convenience checks. Guess what--using the checks has NO FEE attached, even though there was a fee on the online or phone transfers. So read your documents carefully.

Is this for life of transfer or only for a specified time?

I like life of transfer better!
