When your 6 mo's @ 0% are almost up, pay it off (or xfer out). Then call the BT dept. They'd be able to offer a 3-month extension for the 0% - all you'd have to do is BT back to Discover. BUT - to get the extension, you must xfer out before the cut-off date. This date is normally 1 month prior to the date your 0% adjusts to the regular purchase APR. Saar
Are they offering this to existing members? I just transferred $3500 at 1.9%, but if they're offering 0% I am calling back. Dani
I had Discover for 7 years.. They offered me 0.0% on my exsiting platinum account back in March. It was valid till August
Re: Discover 6 mo's @ 0% extended t Well, the rep said she can EXTEND the 0% rate, so I'm not sure if she can also initiate it. BT @ 1.9% is still an AMAZING deal Saar
Re: Discover 6 mo's @ 0% extended t Update: The extension only applies to BTs made at the time the extension is offered. To benefit the most, you have to have the account at $0 balance when you call, and not charge anything else once the BT is made until the extended rate expires. Anyway, I've paid them off. Then, I called to ask for the extension. They took my BT request and noted that it'll carry 0% APR till October. Saar
