How hard is Discover to get with a lot of inquiries? I have 9 inquiries (most in the past six months...7 of them I think) and with my now clean (wooohoooo) Experian report, I would like to apply but am afraid I'll get denied based on inquiries alone.

If this isn't a good one to apply for, who else pulls Experian that wouldn't hold that number of inquiries against me?

    Thanks!!!!

They are pretty hard to get.

You cannot have any derog. and get the card. I applied and they pulled Equifax for me.

I called and asked what the criteria is and that's what they told me. They even count late pays. They do a manual review for all apps.

I had put all of the accounts in dispute and applied but still didn't get it.

I don't have any derogs or late pays on Experian and that's what they pulled the last time I applied about a month or two ago.

I'm thinking maybe I should apply for a loan with Xerox Credit Union instead. I don't really need anymore credit cards, but either want to BT or get a loan to get rid of these providian cards. I could really use some input on the best way to go.

    Thanks.

Maybe you could call some of your current creditors and see if they will offer you a balance transfer.

You could fake them out and say that you got an offer from their competitor and you want to see if they could beat or match it.

what about Umbrella bank?? They have 9.9% .. I know 9.9% isn't even close to being a good BT rate, but it's only a soft inquiry on your report anyway.... and if you're paying more than 9.9% it'll still save ya a few bucks..........

I have had good luck with MBNA with lots of inquiries. THey pulled Exp for me, in California.

I originally got denied for a platinum card, then sent tried their gold reserve loc. Got a manual approval, then also got a platinum card. If you can get to a csr before the computer spits you out, you should be ok.
