I already checked millcbs.com. Does anyone one know what type of score is needed, and which CRA is used. Does it take 30 days for approval? Do their reps call first like MBNA? I applied online at 7 am today. No credit report has been pulled yet. I did receive an e-mail stating they got my application and it can take 4 weeks to decide approval. Thanks for any input you can provide. I thought Discover was an instant type approval? I applied for the Platinum card.

I applied for Discover back in March. I was instantly approved but wasn't told my cl at that point. They pulled Equifax. I think back then I had about a 700, no negatives.

My hubby applied in December with some negatives and a 705 and was declined. But they pulled Experian on him.

I applied in Feb. since Equifax has been removing all the old inquiries so it disappeared. I applied again yesterday and I got the same message. I don't know if it is an approval because the last time it said, I would receive something in the mail in 2 weeks not 4 weeks.

I also applied for TargetVisa yesterday and I got the same message. I checked Equifax this morning and there are not inquiries from Discover or Target. But, my Household inquiry is showing on Equifax. I also applied for BofA visa card and they said to check back in 24 hours.

When I spoke to Discover in Feb. they said you cannot have any derog tradelines, nothing, not even a late payment. But, I have seen people on this board with scores lower than mine and with more derog get this card so I am waiting to see what happens. With my 2-30 day late payments in dispute on Equifax I have a 754 before the dispute I was at 674. The 2-30 day lates are the only derog on Equifax. And, I know they only pull Equifax for me.

I applied in May. They pulled Experian and I had roughly a 690 at that time. They denied me due to "too short credit history" I've only been in Exp. records since 86. When I called, they said they wanted another 6 months of on time payments and then I would qualify. You know what - they hell with them. I got amex at the same time as I applied for discover. I will not reapply.

Beta - apparently one member here got a Discover Plat with a 580 score.

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK. I just called Discover, gave them my SS#, and the system still shows nothing. The rep stated it could take 48 hours before they see my online app?? No credit reports have been pulled yet. I know they rec'd my app because i received the e-mail instantly from them explaining the 4 week stuff. Below is the message I rec'd yesterday:

Thank you for applying for the Discover® Card. You can be assured that we will handle your application with professional care. Please allow us about 4 weeks to give you an approval decision.

I'm going to cancel my card with them. It sucks. Their cashback bonus is hardly enough to be worth much of anything. I got the GM Mastercard and am going to use it primarily for EVERYTHING as it pays the 5% back.

Just spoke to Discover card again tonight. I applied online Saturday morning at 7am and rec'd a confirmation e-mail that it can take 4 weeks to process. As of today my application still has not reached Discovercard. They stated it could take 8 days to be uploaded to them??? Is this BS?They said they are so busy everyone is delayed??? Are they ready to take over CITIBANK??

I called them Monday and they told me it takes up to 2 weeks. I don't understand it. I ready to call them back and tell them don't bother.

I applied online with BofA Sat. and I just got email confirmation that I had been approved. So I don't know what the hold-up was for. I applied with Chase also in case I didn't get the BofA card and it also said "further processing".

Careful with so many apps in a short period of time. Not only lower your score, but may be rejected for too many applications for credit. And, that many new accounts on your file will tank your score temporarily.

How long will it affect your score for? Because I used the score simulators on Equifax and Experian and if I opened new accounts and increased the amount of available credit then my score would go up.

I was also pissed off at Cap. 1 and that was the only major cc I had so I started applying. It does become addictive like so many people say. And I'm mostly using equifax and they are deleting inquiries left and right.

How are you getting them to delete inquiries?

Beta - you might want to call up Chase and see if they'll have someone review your application on the phone and give you an immediate answer.
when i applied a few months ago - it also said further processing - called up the next day and got approved.

I called chase and I was approved for $3k.

I called Discover after checking my Equifax report and it showed an inquiry 7/9. They said I was approved but they had determined the credit line yet. They told me to call back later this week.

You should check Eq to see if they pulled your report yet and then call the next day to see if you are approved.
