I am considering in trying for a Discover Card with the bonus cash back on gasoline. With the recent rise in gas prices, it just seem 'smart' to try to combat the rising prices. I know about the two-cycle billing, rate jacking and so forth but those are not non-issues with me. Also my last 7 credit cards have reached their 6 month mark in history and I don't know if that will help or hurt my chances with Discover. My current FICO is about 677-700 depending on the CRA and inqs are low. Can any here relate to me what scores they are looking for and what ever else? Best regards, Mirage
I applied for Discover last year and was denied. I called them and the new accounts department told me they require three years of solid credit history to approve an account.
denied 5 times, finally got it with 750 exp too many new accounts too many inquiries always apply for classic card, its a free upgrade to platinum. They are very hard to get, i only got a 7500 limit. Only using it for the free 12 month 0% BT weak limit, very picky folks, not widely accepted, but cool lookin cards its a sock drawer BT card. my rate is like 13.9% now but 3.9% Bt always waiting around. Not likely to be used with the better cards on the market.
I do have a history that starts from 1996 (Cap 1) perfect history. It was only in Nov/2003 when my bk-13 fell did I really went on a cc binge. Thanks for the 3 year history tip. Best regards, Mirage
How many and how old were your accounts when you got the 'too many new accounts' message. Also how many inqs did you have at the time? Best regards, Mirage
Re: Re: Discover card requirements? Yes and Bank One for most of their products. Best regards, Mirage
