Hi! I was wondering if anybody has written a letter to Greenwood Trust and actually received a response back. If so, please let me know who you wrote to and the address please. I'm looking to increase my pathetic credit limit without a hard inquiry to my credit report. Thanks for your help. Dani
Dani, For results try contacting this gentleman: Mr. Brice Brown Executive Inquiry Specialist Cardmember Services Discover Financial Services PO Box 17019 Wilmington, DE 19850-7019 In my opinion, this guy is to Discover what Mr. Miller is to Capital One. Good Luck Manny
I'VE BEEN TRYING FOR FIVE YEARS TO GET A "NO INQUIRY" INCREASE...SAY EVERY TIME MUST DO "HARD" INQUIRY... SO I THREATENED TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT...
George, By threatening to close the account did they give you an increase without pulling your credit report? Discover is a good company with great service reps, but their views on credit line increases needs much improvement. Dani
I told them that I would close the account if I didn't get a credit line increase with-out an inquiry...they gave me an increase of $1,500...a long way from $7,000... THAT'S $300/YEAR...I ASKED FOR CLOSER TO $1,400/YEAR!!!!!!!! INQUIRY? I WON'T KNOW UNTIL I SEE ALL MY CREDIT REPORTS...
George, thanks for responding. I wonder if anybody has actually gotten an increase from Discover without their credit report being pulled or threatening to cancel. I think I may apply for one of the Amex charges...maybe Plantium (ha!). Dani
I got a $2500 automatic increase a while ago on my Discover Platinum. My limit went from $5,000 to $7,500.
Steve, How long had you had the card before they gave you this? Did you keep a balance on the card or paid it off in full each month? Just curious on what I need to do. Thanks. Dani
Hi Dani, I think I had the card for about a year and a half before they gave me the increase. I paid the balance in full every month (including a large $2,500 purchase that I once made). The large purchase might have helped me in getting the increase.
Thank you, Steve for your response. I pay my balance off in full each month, too but I've only had the card for about a year. I will try a couple big purchases (with my big $1200 CL) and see what happens. Thanks again. Dani
