Discover Card

    Hi all,
    I'm curious about something...I just applied for the Discover Platinum card online and was approved! I'm supposed to receive my card within 30 days. I'm a little bothered by the disclaimer that if I don't meet the Platinum card criteria, I will be considered for the standard Discover card.

    I called and spoke with a CSR, and he said that there's no way for them to know which card I was approved for until I receive the card (?). The notice didn't give any account info. Has anyone received the standard card instead of the Platinum you applied for, or a 'declined' letter on the same app instead of the card?

    I do know that it took a week after I was before my account was setup (I did get a platinum). Customer service was not able to answer any of my questions about my new account (limit, etc) until the account was setup.

    I would give it a week or two, and call back again.

    Thanks for the response. I guess I just have to wait and see!! (and learn to be more patient :)
