Now that I'm at a very high utilization with them (0% APR till 4/2003), they try to get me to charge more, so that they can earn some interest. The result? An unsolicited $300 increase. Just when you thought they had no sense of humor ;)

I'm using them for 0 percent until April, too. Am considering using a Citibank preapproval for 0 percent and no BT fee until March 2004 for the Discover balance when the time comes.

Discover ups my limit once a year without me asking, but I almost never carry a balance because the 12.99 percent rate is too high. That said, the rate used to be 14.99 percent, which was REALLY too high.

To get a lower rate, you may wanna try:

    1. Calling Discover's Retention 1-800-347-2911, 1-888-347-3750; or

    2. Switching to Discover Titanium (at 9.99% "go to" APR but no cash-back bonus).

Generally, revolving a balance on Discover is not recommended, as they use 2-cycle billing.

Interest is "BACK DATED" to the previous month...you have to pay every month in full to avoid it...
