I received an offer in the mail from Discover yesterday. On the basis that anything that looks to good to be true, usually is, I was wondering what other visitors to this site knew about this. This offered 0% APR on balance transfers until they are paid. If this is right, I would like them to inherit another balance for about $9k! Does anyone know what their approval criteria is? It looks as if they made a soft search with Experian, who have me down for a Scorepower of 718. Any idea of what kind of credit line they would entertain? Neil
I got approved for their Discovercard Platinum about 3-4 months ago for a somewhat different offer. What I observed in their initial credit line offering was that they weren't as generous as MBNA or Chase. In fact, they gave half! As for the interest rate--It was middle of the road! I was quite surprised because the other credit card companies (MBNA, Chase and HH) gave me the lowest interest rate based on the application! I hope that helps!
