we are in the process of cleaning up the cr's. Most things are rolling off this year and the only problem item is Discover that was charged off early 99. How best to resolve this? They have not bothered me on this for a few years but several members have said they are quick to sue. Like to think we've fallen through the cracks but as we pursue the credit clean up they probably will sniff us out. Calvary already has. As far as I know this is only being reported by Discover. Offer to settle to remove this last item ( I hope) prior to getting a mortgage? This item will not be removed till 06. Can't wait that long. Would they take a full settlement and agree to remove the lates and charge off? I doubt it from the comments on this forum but why not try it? Any ideas would be welcome. thanks jimbob
Good Luck! I did the same thing and after I contacted them, suddenly all these CA's were on my A$$. Since contacting them about a charged off account (past the SOL), I have had Sherman Acquisition, OSI, Gulf State and RMA all over me. Its like they contacted them and said.......... SICK EM BOYS! lol, they are all gone but Sherman and I am in the process of having it removed. I am 3 months from my 7 year mark with Discover and up to a year ago, they wouldn't settle with a deletion. Even if I paid in full................ Good Luck again!
I had the same experience. They do not settle. The good news is that they are a bit sloppy in their verification process. I'm still fighting with them on one CRA, but the others fell off rather easily. Others here have posted the same thing.
Sherman is a beast. I offered to pay in full to be removed, even tried to say I was going to file BK. They wouldn't budge. Kept trying, they siad they were ready to sue me. I ended up setteling for about 20% off and since they wouldn't take if off, I didn't feel like I needed to pay in full. I did get them off of Transunion and I have tried to get off of the other two....still trying. I am determined that they will get off some day. They are just very pushy. They even called my upstairs neighbor looking for me. I had a fit about that one.
