Well I have read good and bad about them, I kept receiving preapprovals and decided to take a shot just to help ratios, will probably freeze sucker LOL. I applied and I know they pulled EX, not sure if they pulled EQ as well, they called my work 5 times last week and my friend happened to see a note for me at the desk and gave me the message to call them with a reference number. I did and the lady said they were having trouble verifiying my info and asked address, former address and asked if I had a mortgage or car loan, I said yes to mortgage but said it wasn't reporting yet, she said yes I know I don't see it there, and also asked what current cards I have and appeared to be looking at report, but my experian is current with my address and all info I don't seem to understand why she was asking me to tell her things apparently right in front of her. She said to disregard the denial letter and they will process again with the current information?????? Sorry but I am puzzled????

    Any thoughts?????

Mom, I think Discover tries real hard not to decline.

A couple of months or so ago, same thing happen to my BF (I'm an authorized user). They called him at work and asked his salary, address and a few other questions, then about 5 days later his card came (mine too) with a $10,000 limit.

I think you're in the clear, but they had to verify since your addres has changed and you have a new mortgage not reporting.

Thanks Hope. I just thought if the decline letter is in the mail, why did they call me at work 5 times???? I guess I should have asked if I was now approved, but I think she said they would process application again?? Not sure I was drained over my lovely ordeal today at the credit agency LOL

You'll probably get the card. Don't know why you want it but to each his own. Guess it could help balance to limit ratios.

Funny you should mention Discover. I just got that same Discover Platinum offer in the mail. Too bad it was address to my mother who passed away 4 years ago and has never lived at my address, etc. Don't know how her name got associated with my address. My dad is now starting to receive offers at my house (Cap1, Discover, Sears, cell phone companies, MBNA) and he has NEVER lived closer than 40 miles from me. As a matter of fact, he hasn't lived in CA since 91! I don't get it...
