Just got my Discover bill in the mail yesterday. A Notice of Amendment to Discover Cardmember Agreement came with it.(the lil paper insert that tells you what they've changed so they can screw you better) So I sat down and read it. Among other things, it says, "We are adding a new provision to this section stating that you will be deemed to be in default if you fail to make a payment when due on any other account you have with us OR WITH ANOTHER CREDITOR." So, this says that if I make a mistake, and forget to make a payment on another CC, that THEY can decide that I am in default with them!?! Grrrr........ As soon as I pay off Crap1, I think I'll start paying them down. I was going to start paying down Providian next. I am really starting to hate CC companies.
Most other creditors have already had this provision in place for years. I'm suprised Discover didn't already have it in place.
Would they be in breach of contract if they went by what a credit report says and you can prove you were "never late" ??
