I have been totally frustrated with Discover trying to get them to report accurately here is what happened. September 2000 -Date of delinquency occurred in September 2000. Went 90 days past due 2 times which led them to close the account. Forward to September 2001 - I completed a settlement agreement on 9/17/2001 with Discover. Got the "settled in full for less than full balance.. will update your credit report accordingly" letter early October 2001 - Experian reports Discover as a chargeoff as of 10/01 with a $971 balance. WTF! Account never charged off!!! Disputed with CRA. early November 2001 - Comes back verified of course. I call Discover who confirms that the account did not charge off and sends me a letter the rating should be R-5. I dispute again with the bureaus... early December 2001 - Comes back verified as a paid chargeoff...Who the h*ll is running the credit reporting department at Discover - kids!. I call again and receive a letter saying the Rating should be R-5 this time. They told me they would fax an update to the bureau 48 hours.... present - pulled my report. Tu deleted...probably cause of all the crap. Equifax is reporting $0 paid chargeoff (settlement accepted). Experian is reporting $0 chargeoff. I am LIVID!!!!! Why the h*ll can't these people get their act together. I wasn't asking for a deletion...just for it to be reported appropriately. Their crap resulted in 1) the listing staying on my credit report for a year longer that is has to (Experian says until 10/2008). 2) It being reported as a paid chargeoff with an R-9 rating. Now, however, I am tired of the BS! I Can I demand that Discover delete the entry because that cannot appear to report it accurately...something like "Three strikes and delete?"...Please help...I have faxed Mr. Brown in early December and he called and said he would see what he could do but I haven't heard from him since...I am on the verge of driving to DE and knocking some heads together!!
Have you try planetfeedback or asking for a hire up and keep asking for the bosses until they do you right!!!!
