There are TONS of people who check out this board, I would say most of us agree that 7 years for a stupid little mistake to fall is absurd. What can we do about it? I'm sure we all know at least one or two people who have also made the same minor mistake. 1100 people signed up on this board, think maybe there is a lawyer among us? We are the people that keep these creditors in business who in turn keep the CRA's in business. We vote for the people that go into our governments. What can we do to CHANGE the current reporting limits? Maybe petetion congress? Send the FTC letters? ANy ideas?

KHM sorry for rambling just woke up from a much needed nap :)

The problem is that most of the people who could 'tackle' this problem do not have this problem.

People at that level (of power and/or affluence) can easily have their debts bought and removed- nothing to it.

Just look in the back of magazines such as 'The Robb Report' or others that cater to affluent people. There are ad's from Law firms and the like that actually advertise these services. They have the ability to report to CRA's and abuse the privilidge to buy and remove old debt and add trade lines.

I am sure that they do not have the same problems we do when it comes to getting CR's corrected.

Have you ever seen an email or website that shows the amounts of bad checks, Bk's, and charge-off's the members of congress have had? Do you think it affect's them at all? Nope. They just get it taken care of.

    Frustrating.

Perhaps - But the way they operate isn't!
My Feeling= If they can't do it right close them down until they get their act together.

They shouldn't be reported=It infringes on the right to shop around.
1=That's where FICO comes in and why they came up with it!

2=But first we we have to find a way to get them out of their pockets.

The paid date is what ever day they say it is under this set up so they can mak it when ever they want. This renders what ever receipt you have null and void.

    Very good point!

    3 Years is just right.
If you can't get it together by then you probably won't in seven either!
7 years causes the focus to be on what used to be instead of what's going on today. This isn't good for the lender or the borrower.
Why stick to some thing that is harmful to both?????

    Right

Fico doesn't show responsibility or lack of same.It shows them what areas are ripe for fleecing!

Until the law restores the validity of our receipts lates shouldn't be reported at all!

Fight them with every means avalable to us.Don't take everything they dish out with out question.Balk at every piece of crap they throw at us.Keep it up until they realize doing it our way is of more benefit to them than resisting us!

Conversely, having three separate credit records, and three different FICO's gives us Damaged Ones the opportunity to navigate around the mines, at least to some degree; ie picking and choosing which lenders to talk to based on your knowledge of who looks at which credit bureau.
